Privacy Policy

1.1.    User Profile

ShopTalk is a Business Messenger app. Users are distinguished by their phone number. The Admin of a business may add the phone numbers of their team members, or add business owner’s phone number for Admin use cases.

When a user tries to login for the first time, the user’s Name, and email ID are requested. Additionally the photo of the user may be provided. ShopTalk may supplement this information with information from third parties. 

A user, once registered, may create their own business profile, and invite the business’ team members to register with the app & start messaging, and other collaborative functions.

1.2.    Installation

When you install ShopTalk and use the Services, we will collect some information from you and the device you use in your interaction with our Services. This may include Device ID, IP address, location, Device details like manufacturers, model number, SIM card info, ID for advertising, access to Contacts, Call log, SMS log, meta data of calls and messages.

1.3.    Contact Information

The primary purpose of ShopTalk Business Messenger is to isolate Business & Team activity from Personal activity that happens with respect to Calls, SMS, and Contacts. In accessing your Contacts, please note that no other contact information other than the phone numbers, associated names, Google ID’s and email addresses will be used. Our key objective is to have a shared phonebook on ShopTalk cloud for contacts related to business.

1.4.    Other Information

While interacting with our services, you may provide relevant information, such as your Buisness’ category, the Name of the business, and also provide some metadata related to your business contacts that is currently not in ShopTalk database. We may use this to refine the quality of the ShopTalk business contact cloud, to improve the effectiveness of the ShopTalk for all users.

2.1    Provide, Improve & Personalize our Services

As primarily a Business Messenger, ShopTalk strives to keep personal information separate from information related to your Business and Team. ShopTalk may use the information collected above to provide, maintain, improve, analyze and personalize the Services to its Users.

2.2    Compliance with applicable laws, and prevention of Fraud

We are a fully law-abiding operation, and as such may use information we collect to comply with relevant laws, to promote and defend safety of all the users of ShopTalk. Also, we may use the data to improve data accuracy, detect & prevent fraud, security breaches.

As Business Messenger, ShopTalk doesn’t have any interest in user’s personal information such as Personal contacts, calls, messages, and as such none of these items get stored on ShopTalk cloud. When a user wants to delist themselves from ShopTalk, it’s likely to happen in one of two ways. (a) The user is part of a Business Team. When the user leaves the Team, the Admin will remove the user from Team. The user will no longer have access to any of the business interactions, and as none of the user’s personal info was ever stored on ShopTalk cloud, there’s nothing more a User needs to do. (b) When the user is the Admin/Owner of a Business, and want to delete entire business specific communication. This will be facilitated & the business specific info will be completely deleted, in accordance with ShopTalk Terms of Usage.

ShopTalk is completely cloud based, and uses cloud-based service providers like AWS, Azure for its computing infrastructure. We take exhaustive precautions to keep your data safe, & prevent its loss, or misuse. Please note however that no transmission method, and storage is 100% secure.

ShopTalk reserves the right to, without notice, make changes as we deem necessary to this Privacy Policy. As such you agree to review as deemed necessary by your business use. Your usage of ShopTalk shall constitute consent to the policy.

We may use cookies, and other web application techniques, including mobile app identifiers etc., to help us improve your experience as user, increase security, measure effectiveness. By using the ShopTalk you consent to these metrics in compliance with our privacy policy.
